What Is Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is an herb used in Ayurveda medicine. It is most commonly used as an relaxation promoting supplement.

The name means “smell of a horse.” This name not only comes from the smell of the plant, but also from the traditional belief that ingesting the plant will confer the strength and virility of a horse.
