Discovery, History & Research
Discovery
The first formal mention of Nitracaine in the literature dates back to March 2014, with analysis of test purchases from online research chemical vendors. With scientists mentioning Nitracaine alongside other chemicals as instrumentation for detecting a broad range of compounds was needed, in light of new drug synthesis within clandestine Chinese laboratories.
History
Since 2014, there has been availability of Nitracaine on the research chemical market with the freebase version being offered online with rapid home delivery. Discussion has described Nitracaine as a stimulant similar to Dimethocaine with local anaesthetic properties.
Research
There is sparse research on Nitracaine alone. The research that does exists, shows the characterisation of a novel compound and it’s chemical composition and catalogue numbers. However, in July 2014, a team at the St Jame’s Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, published a paper discussing the “syntheses, characterization and in vitro metabolism” of three research chemicals, one of which was Nitracaine.

Chemical Structural Data
Being a structural analogue to Dimethocaine, Nitracaine is a nitrogenated analogue of Dimethocaine.
Structure-Activity & Chemical Similarity Predictions
Based on the similarities of Dimethocaine it is believed that Nitracaine is similar in activity with binding to the dopamine transporter and possibly the noradrenaline transporter too.
However, there does not seem to be any formal publication outlining the exact receptor affinity and efficacy of Nitracaine.
Key Areas of Research
Samples of Nitracaine to purchase online may be used in the following scientific applications.
- As a forensic sample and/or for forensic chemical catalogues.
- Dopamine transporter research.
- Local anaesthetic compounds of interest.
- As a reference sample for Toxicology laboratories.
- As a chemical reagent and/or intermediate
- Pharmaceutical Intermediate
- As a research chemical sample within studying pharmacology of receptor binding assays.
- Affinity and Efficacy Receptor profiling.
- Reference sample for the application within future therapeutic compounds
- Pure reference standard for chemical analytical libraries using HPLC, FTIR, NMR and GC/MS equipment
Online Anecdotal Reports
Nitracaine is not very well studied in controlled laboratory settings. However, since Nitracaine’s availability online, customers from the UK and other western countries have sought it out for their anecdotal reports.
Online forums are littered with Nitracaine reviews and comparisons with other similar research chemicals. Nitracaine vs Synthecaine can be found as a common discussion alongside the smoking Nitracaine discussiong and further dosage and experiences.
