Discovery, History & Research

Discovery

The discovery of  FUB-APINACA or FUB-AKB4 has not official been in the litarature, and like many other “designer drugs” within the synthetic cannabinoid culture, it may well be a product of clandestine laboratory research – looking for a way to modify similar compounds in the light of avoiding analogue acts and research chemical bans.

History

Since if discussion online FUB-APINACA has been seen in online forum discussion and also in some very interesting studies researching its pharmacology in vivo. From our 2014 to 2016, FUB-APINACA has seen some light online, but with Sweden and the state of Alabama placing in on a controlled substance list around 2014, its production and use in science has tapered off slightly.

Chemical Structural Data

FUB-APINACA is technically an analogue of of its closely related cousin, APINACA and 5F-APINACA. The difference being that the pentyl chain is replaced with a fluorobenzyl. FUB-APINACA is an indole based synthetic cannabinoid.

Structure-Activity & Chemical Similarity Predictions

Much like many of the other similar chemicals within this chemical subgroup, FUB-APINACA has a strong affinity for the CB1 and CB2 receptor subgroup. Interesting there have been some actual pharmacological profiling conducted on FUB-APINACA in vivo, allowing us a small insight into its binding profile at various postulated cannabinoid receptors.

 

FUB-AKB-48 acts as a full agonist with a binding affinity of 1.06nM at CB1 and 0.174nM at CB2 cannabinoid receptors.
