My Supplement Use

Being a sales rep and self declared "product specialist" I would like to claim that supplement use has been an important aspect of my fitness routines, but to be completely honest, it hasn't ALWAYS been.

When I started lifting, back in high school, I don't think I ever really had a full grasp on the importance of different lifts, rep counts, rest times, and all of the other factors that go into a "goal specific" routine. Simply put, I would strap on as much weight as possible on the bench press or squat rack, and pump out what I could.

It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I realized the importance of breaking everything down into smaller categories all depending on the outcome in mind. On top of this, I learned how substantial some of the less "power focused" lifts were for any routine, and how incredibly valuable supplementation could be for all of this.

Supplements for Weight Lifting

I started with a standard staple to any supplement routine, whey protein, and within a few weeks saw the benefits of the product. I noticed my muscles were able to recover consistently after a tough lift, and this of course led to much harder lifts later in the week.

After a while, I introduced a few other things to my "shelf" including a pre-workout mix, a post-workout mix (both by MusclePharm), some casein protein, and some micronized creatine (con-cret). Before I knew it, I was putting on substantial muscle and my lifts were absolutely sky-rocketing: simply put, I love it!

However, what I didn't love was how expensive all of these products were. Being a broke college kid, I simply couldn't afford 200 dollars a month on supplements.

Luckily, I was sent a blessing in disguise when I found a job at a supplement company. I started in the warehouse, as a packager, so I got to spend some literal "hands on" time with all of our awesome products. For the first few months, every time I would package a new, unique product I had never heard of, I would write it down and would do research when I go home. Before I knew it, I had a pretty solid knowledge base, and I wanted to try everything!

Bulk products, like Powder City offers are awesome for anybody on a budget, and I definitely capitalized on this. I was constantly trying new things, all while still experiencing from everything. Getting back into the groove of things here, I have decided to design my own pre-workout, stimulant, and post-workout  formulas based on our products.
